GOING SOUTH

Eat:

Fleet: our favourite restaurant in Australia! A 14 seat beautiful restaurant in Brunswick Heads, you honestly feel as though you are in someone’s home! You must book as early as possible, because you're not the only one wanting to dine at this restaurant!

  • We recommend: order the chef menu and let beautiful Astrid and Josh do the work!

  • Their cocktails from Rob their mixologist are absolutely spectacular too.

DOMA: a beautiful Japanese style cafe in Federal (inland of Byron Bay).

  • We recommend: scrambled eggs with brown rice for breakfast or the wagyu or tempura vegetable hand roll for lunch.

Woods: a health conscious quaint cafe in Bangalow. Beautiful fresh and nourishing menu!

The Farm: you can’t visit Byron Bay and not go to The Farm. A beautiful property featuring a restaurant by Three Blue Ducks, a bakery by the Bread Social, a florist, a deli and with lots of land for kids to play.

Harvest: in Newrybar, this beautifully converted Queenslander is a tranquil setting lunch or dinner. Make sure you check out their bakery behind the restaurant and their stunning deli next door!

Bang Bang: modern Asian fusion cuisine in Byron, seriously delicious!!

Combi: health food cafe in Byron Bay. Lots of yummy smoothie options!

Top Shop: you’ve got to try one of Top Shop’s famous burgers! There’s nothing more to it

Bayleaf: cafe in the centre of Byron Bay, always a hive of activity!

Do:

Lighthouse walk: Byron Bay is well known for its lighthouse at the most Easterly point of Australia. There are beautiful walking tracks up to the light house and back down to Watego’s beach.

Wategos beach: although parking is becoming more and more difficult, Wategos is a truly stunning beach!

COMMA: incredible day spa in Byron Bay, the interior decorating is equally as good as their treatments.

Brunswick Cinema: check out what is playing during your time in Northern NSW at the retro styled cinema in Brunswick heads.

Little Company: in Byron industrial area, the best facial in all the land! Honestly such an experience!

Crystal Castle: for the hippy within you, check out Crystal Castle in Mullumbimby. Some of the largest crystals you'll ever set your (third) eye on!

Edwards and Co: in Byron industrial estate, book in for a haircut or a blow wave.

Hikes: a few of our faves in the Northern NSW region:

  • Minyon Falls: absolutely stunning waterfall at the end of a moderately difficult hike.

  • Killen Falls

  • Mount Warning: aim to start the walk approximately 1.5 hours prior to sunrise, so you can see it rise at the viewing platform at the top. This is quite a difficult hike!

Shopping:

  • Island Luxe: with stores in Bangalow and Byron Bay, these luxurious bohemian stores are very dangerous on the wallet.

  • Bisque: Moroccan styled homewares in Bangalow

  • Pop and Scoot + We Are Pampa studio: beautiful hand painted pots and rugs in Byron industrial estate

  • Yoli & Otis: linen fashion for kids and adults in Byron industrial estate
